Usage
stance iaiIai is the duelist's stance: slip attacks and answer with a counter.
At a glance:
- Role: the duelist, who dodges instead of soaking hits.
- Trade off: no damage reduction, so hits that get through land in full.
- Technique: Iai Slash.
- Numbers: stance shows your exact numbers.
How it plays:
- You dodge some swings of the foe you fight, more against NPCs.
- You can also slip the first hit of some Ki and physical skills.
- A dodge answers with a draw cut, Counterdraw.
- Against NPCs your swings cut through part of their armor.
- More mastery means more dodges, harder counters and extra swings.
Tips:
- Iai Slash spends your whole Cadence bar on a draw cut, then veils you for a
short time so you can slip some skills.
- Dazed or frozen in time, you dodge nothing.
- In Dissonance Iai gains damage reduction; in Crescendo your counters hit
harder.
- Against players you dodge fewer swings, and only counters cut armor.
