Mercenary Contracts are paid jobs that auxiliary clans (factions) carry out for reward. Work comes from two sources: a neutral job board the game keeps stocked, and contracts that empires (main clans) post and fund to wage their wars by proxy. Only factions can claim contracts; empires post them. Everyone: contract Show the contract board (also "contract list"). contract status Your faction's claimed contracts and their progress. Factions (auxiliary clans), any member: contract claim Take an open contract. A faction may hold up to two at once, each with a deadline; miss it and the contract reopens for others. contract deliver [id] Fulfil a delivery contract. You must be carrying the full amount at once, of the required material and at or above the contract's minimum quality. It is turned in in one go, from wherever you are standing. Factions (auxiliary clans), leader or general only: contract abandon Give up a claimed contract, reopening it for others. Empires (main clans), leader or general only: contract post ... Post a funded contract. The zenni reward is held from your clan bank when you post it, and refunded if it expires unclaimed or an immortal cancels it. assassinate > raid deliver contract goods Materials factions have delivered to you. contract withdraw [qty] Take delivered materials into your inventory, up to 100 at a time. (Empire contract posting is temporarily disabled while the system is tested.) How each contract is completed. All are detected automatically, and any member of the claiming faction may contribute toward the total: kill Land the killing blow on the named boss. cull Kill the required number of the named creature. commission Craft the required number of weapons or gear at or above the listed tier. catch Reel in the required number of fish while fishing. deliver Carry the full amount at the minimum quality, then use contract deliver from wherever you are standing. assassinate A sanctioned kill of the target player, or of any member of the target clan (empire contracts). raid Drive the target district's loyalty below the threshold (empire contracts). The status of your claimed jobs and your progress toward each are shown with contract status. Harder jobs, tougher bosses, higher tiers, and larger hauls pay more. On completion the reward zenni goes to the faction's clan bank, and neutral contracts also award Faction Points to the faction's pool, spent at the faction shop on temporary clan wide buffs (see help factionshop). Empire contracts pay zenni only; a delivery's materials go to the empire's stockpile, seen and claimed with contract goods and contract withdraw. New contracts are announced to all faction members and immortals with a [Mercenary Contract] notice. The neutral board carries up to ten jobs, adding a couple every twenty minutes or so, and unclaimed jobs eventually expire.
