Usage
sort Organize your materials by quality. This determines which material is selected
by ANY command that needs a material: crafting, combining, junking, dropping,
putting in bags, etc. Sort by quality to control which materials get consumed
first, ensuring you save your best materials for important crafts.
USAGE:
sort inventory low Sort your inventory by quality (lowest first)
sort inventory high Sort your inventory by quality (highest first)
sort inv low Shorthand for 'sort inventory low'
sort 'blue bag' low Sort a multi-word bag name (use quotes)
sort backpack high Sort a single-word bag name (no quotes needed)
HOW IT WORKS:
- Only material items (ore, fabric, wood, oil, etc.) are sorted
- Non-material items stay in their current positions
- When ANY command needs a material, it takes the first one in order
- This affects: crafting, combining, junking, dropping, putting in bags
- Sorting changes the traversal order, so you get lowest or highest quality
- Your materials command shows current sorted order
EXAMPLES:
You have 3 ore pieces with qualities: 10, 25, and 5
sort inventory low -> Materials now appear: quality 5, 10, 25
When you craft armor, it uses the quality-5 ore first
sort inventory high -> Materials now appear: quality 25, 10, 5
When you craft armor, it uses the quality-25 ore first
SPECIAL NOTES:
- Sorting is temporary - it's lost when you logout
- New pickups break the sort - newly found materials jump to the front
- Use materials command to view current sorted order
- Works on bags you carry (containers must be open)
- Only affects materials inventory, not regular gear
- ALL material operations respect the sort order - junk, drop, put, combine, etc.
- Useful for preserving high-quality materials while discarding lower tiers
