Continuous songs are sustained anthems only a Konatsu can play. Start one with play , for example play march, and end it with stop. Rules of the Song: - Requires a held ocarina and the learned song, one song at a time (starting another replaces the first). - Upkeep drains fatigue every 5 seconds, 1.5% of your max fatigue for March, Aegis and Requiem, 2% for Dirge, Tempo and Deadly Sonata, cut by up to half at full song mastery. You need two ticks' worth in reserve to start. - A song runs indefinitely, there is no timer. It ends only when you stop, unwield the ocarina, or your fatigue runs out. - The singer feels the full effect, grouped allies in the room carry it at half strength, whatever their race. Dirge of Ruin instead curses the foes fighting you or your group, at full strength. Deadly Sonata is self only. - Songs are learned from their sheet music (the sheet crumbles once read). Only a Konatsu can play a continuous song, at a flat 2 fatigue per note. - Sustaining a song under fire is what hones it. Mastery grows only while you fight with the song playing, simply starting or replaying it trains nothing, so keep it up through battle. - Crescent Moon stance can hold no ocarina and cannot sing, its intrinsic Bladesong stands in. The Undersong, a Second Voice: Master Crescendo, then face Future Zeno, and he may gift you the Undersong. It is rare, and it is permanent, it stays with you through every remort that follows. - Start a second song beneath your first with play second , and silence it alone with stop second. A plain stop ends both. - The second voice sings for you alone. Your group never feels it, whatever the song normally does for them. - It carries half the strength you would get from that song as your main melody, and for that it costs half the upkeep. - It needs a melody underneath it, so a main song must already be playing, and the two must be different songs. - Dirge of Ruin cannot be a second voice. Dirge curses your foes, so sung at yourself it would only curse you. - Swapping your main song keeps the second voice playing. - Both songs train while you fight, each on its own. - The second voice starts by song name only, a note sequence cannot begin one. - Aegis Hymn is a weak second voice for a full Iron stance, your damage reduction is already at its ceiling there, so you are paying the upkeep for its regeneration alone.
Effects scale with song mastery, 0 to 100%, the singer's values shown: March of the Blade: party deals +10% to +30% damage. Aegis Hymn: party takes -10% to -20% damage and regenerates 1% to 2% of max PL every 5 seconds. Dirge of Ruin: your foes deal -10% to -20% and take +10% to +20% damage. Tempo of the Tempest: each round a 20% to 100% chance of +1 to +10 extra autohit swings, both rising with mastery. Requiem of the Vein: heal 5% to 10% of the damage you deal. Deadly Sonata: your autohits deal +30% to +50% damage (the singer only, never the party).
