Battlespam controls how much combat text you see. Use the command 'toggle battle' to change it. Each time you type 'toggle battle' it cycles through three settings, Off, then Compact, then Advanced, and the game tells you which one you switched to. Off is the default. You see every combat message the moment it happens. This is the most detailed view, but in a large group fight or against many enemies the text can scroll past very quickly. Compact tidies up your ordinary weapon swings. Instead of a separate line for every single hit, each round shows one short line per attacker telling you how many times they hit and the total damage they dealt. Special attacks and other combat messages still appear as normal. Advanced is the quietest and easiest to read setting. At the end of every combat round it gathers everything that happened into one neat summary panel, who hit whom, the skills used, misses, dodges, critical hits, any kills, and the remaining health of your target and the tank, all in one place. A skill you fire yourself still shows its damage right away so combat stays responsive, and important boss messages still appear live.
