aliases alias
Usage
alias An alias is a single word command that can be used to
represent multi-word commands. These can make performing
skills and other activities much easier by eliminating
extra typing.
ALIAS
This will create a new alias with the alias-name, when the
alias-name is typed it will process the command assigned to
it.
> alias gnb get nugget bag
In the above example typing 'gnb' would now make
the player enter the command, get nugget bag.
ALIAS
If an alias is defined, you can type the above to delete it
from your saved aliases.
> alias gnb
This would now delete the 'gnb' alias we had saved
in the previous example.
Special characters can also be used in aliases to have multiple
commands performed with a single alias, or to append the rest
of the line to the alias.
A semicolon (";") can be used to define multiple actions to be
taken with a single alias.
> pummel punch;punch;punch
In this example typing 'pummel' would now have your
character use the punch command 3 times.
The variables $1, $2, ... $9 may be used to represent arguments
given with an alias.
> alias killem focus 'unravel' $1; focus 'taiyoken' $2
> killem frieza cooler
Would use unravel defenses on frieza, followed by taiyoken on
cooler. Variables may be used repeatedly and in any order:
The special variable $* represents the entire input line after
an alias:
> alias tz tell zenzi $*
> tz hi there, how are you today?
You tell Zenzi, 'hi there, how are you today?'
Note: Aliases can not be nested or used recursively.
If an alias name is already an internal mud command, the
internal command will overwrite the alias. Also some clients
handle semi-colons on their end, and to be entered into the
alias successfully you would have to disable the function on
your client.
- Aliases have a 125 character limit.
